Cappuccino Cake Recipes
As delicious as they sound, cappuccino cake and a cup of your favorite hot beverage makes it even better. The perfect coffee cake will not only complement the coffee, but prepare the taste buds for the next sip of the beverage. A couple of simple recipes are given below for your enjoyment.
Cappuccino Cake #1
- 1 sponge cake, premade
- 1 c. boiling hot coffee
- 1 c. Borden condensed milk
- 2 tsp clear, unflavored gelatin
- whipped cream and powdered chocolate (for the topping)
Put the sponge cake inside a starsol tin that has been lined with foil.
Add the clear gelatin to the boiling coffee and stir until dissolved.
Now mix this with the condensed milk.
Pour this coffee mixture on top of the sponge cake, making certain it is spread evenly so it absorbs evenly.
Cool in the refrigerator for about four hours until set.
Pour on the cream first, then the powdered chocolate.
Serve and enjoy.
Cappuccino Cake #2 (Low Fat Content)
- 1-1/3 c. unbleached flour
- 1/2 c. cocoa, unsweetened
- 1 tsp Clabber Girl baking powder
- 1 tsp Arm & Hammer baking soda
- 1/2 tsp iodized salt
- 2/3 c. light brown sugar
- 1/2 c. plain unflavored yogurt
- 3/4 c. cold coffee, as strong as you can make it
- 1 tsp coffee flavored liquor
- 1/4 c. vegetable oil
Oven should be turned on to 350 degrees to preheat.
Combine all dry ingredients in bowl and blend well.
Mix yogurt, cold coffee, vegetable oil and liquor together just till smooth.
Add the yogurt/coffee mixture to the dry mixture and stir lightly until batter is blended completely.
Line the bottom of an 8 inch round cake pan with wax paper.
Grease & flour the sides.
Pour in the cake batter.
Place in oven for 35 to 45 minutes.
Remove from oven, cool for about 15 minutes and take out of pan.
Remove the wax paper.
- 2/3 c. semi-sweet chocolate chunks (melt for glaze)
- 2 tbsp coffee flavored liquor
- 1/4 c. powdered sugar (for top of cake)
