Iced Cappuccino - A Cold Alternative To Your Favorite Beverage
For the countless people who feel they have to step away from coffee during the summer, iced cappuccino is a cold alternative that gives you the best of coffee in the hottest of weather. And the increasing popularity of gourmet coffee has made great coffee drinks available in both hot and cold form.
Cappuccino is pretty easy to make and to turn it into an iced drink is just as easy. To make cappuccino, all you have to do is pull your shot of espresso, then steam and froth about six ounces of milk. Pour your milk over the espresso, garnish with cinnamon, and enjoy!
To transform the same drink into something cold, you can simply pour your hot cappuccino into a cup of ice (cubed or crushed), add a little whipped cream if you want, and sprinkle cinnamon on top.
Or you can make your iced cappuccino this way:
- Pull a shot of espresso and pour it over your cup of ice.
- Stir the mixture to cool the espresso.
- Strain the espresso into a serving glass and set the ice aside.
- Add three or four ounces of cold milk to the espresso, and top it with three or four ounces of steamed and frothed milk.
For a little twist, you may choose the following recipe:
- Blend your ice, espresso, and milk to give it more of a milk shake consistency instead of a cold drink.
- As with the other recipe, whipped cream is a great topping for your blended cappuccino, as well.
Try the different ways of making your cappuccino cold to find out what you like.
Once you do, you can experiment with different iced cappuccino recipes or even create your own recipes to share with family and friends who share your love of coffee.
You can do something as simple as adding a little chocolate or caramel syrup to your cappuccino for a little sweet flavor.
If you'd like something a little more adventurous, add the chocolate syrup, then a bit of crème de menthe and you'll have a delicious chocolate-minty iced coffee drink that would make a great dessert.
If you're up for an adventure, try mixing and matching flavors you like in your milkshakes to see if you like them in your cappuccino. You may be surprised at what you can make if you're willing to try it!
Summer no longer means abandoning your coffee! Instead, try an iced cappuccino for that great coffee flavor and a cool, refreshing cold drink. And once you perfect the creation of the cold cappuccino, you can do just about anything to customize the flavor and make your favorite recipes. All it takes is a love of coffee and the desire to make it your own!
